Remove the built-in antenna by holding the airport card in position and gently pulling the pigtail out of its socket. It should now look like the picture below.

 

We can now clearly see identify the pigtail type which also matches what the Pigtail Compatibility page says that the Apple Airport Express Card DOES take a MC-Card:
